Saturday March 3
Well one last Temple today, this one located on top of the Doi Suthep mountain. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is the name of the temple here prayers were said for us (much needed) by 2 different monks. We saw quite a few monks here worshipping and walking through town. The temple in Chiang Mai was built over 5 months. Because the roads were so narrow and winding we had to take trucks to the top. I have included pics below. Next stop to an orchid farm followed by elephant camp. This was the highlight of my day. I really never realized how intelligent an elephant was. You can see a few of the tricks in the videos below. We also had a ride through the jungle (kinda) and up the river on an elephant too cool!
Tonight we enjoyed a customary dinner show. The food was very good and the show entertaining! On the way home 4 of us (out of 21) got dropped off at the night market to see what this was all about. Every day in the late afternoon, the entire main road through the Old City is closed off, and it becomes the Walking Street Market. Vendors for as far as the eye can see. We had to try fish therapy (very weird). See pics below. We settled at an outdoor patio to people watch and enjoy a night cap.
Tomorrow we head back to Bangkok into a bus headed to Pattaya a city on the water south of Bangkok. Here we have a few days to relax and take in a lady boy show:)
